Minyards Recovers From Storm
Fort Worth, Texas (April 14, 2007) — Minyard Food Stores, Inc., today announced it has transferred all its customers’ prescriptions from its storm-damaged store and pharmacy at Beach and Wheeler streets to a nearby Carnival Super Market at 102 NW 28th St. (at Main) in Fort Worth, 76106. Customers may contact the pharmacy at 817-625-2462.
“Our customers are busy cleaning up their homes and neighborhood,” said Minyard CEO Michael D. Byars. “We don’t want them to worry about getting their prescriptions. We are grateful that no one was seriously injured in the store.”
The supermarket sustained a large hole in the ceiling, plus extensive damage to the roof and property in Friday night’s storm. Five people sustained minor injuries, but no hospitalization was required.
Minyard is preparing 300 meals to donate today and tomorrow in support of the Red Cross and its local volunteers as they help the neighborhood recover from the storm.
A special phone number has been set up for the 66 Minyard associates of the Beach Street location who are asked to contact the store manager at 972-342-9267 for updates.
“The store is under assessment right now to get an estimate of when it will reopen,” said Byars. “We are working closely with city and state officials, as well as structural, construction and facility engineers to determine what repairs are needed. We hope to be open again soon.”
